Who is the typical client?
A typical client for a death doula includes not only the individual nearing the end of their life but also their family members and loved ones. These clients often seek a death doula's guidance and support to navigate the emotional, spiritual, and practical challenges of the dying process. Families benefit from the death doula's assistance in managing the complexities of end-of-life care, ensuring that their loved one's final days are peaceful and dignified while also receiving emotional and logistical support themselves.
The death positive movement: a speech given by Giacamo Cappabianca,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today, we gather to discuss an important shift in how we view death—the Positive Death Movement.
In a society where death is often feared and avoided, this movement promotes acceptance, empowerment, and dignity in facing the end of life. It emphasizes holistic support, open conversations, and comprehensive care to ensure that individuals and families can navigate this inevitable journey with peace and dignity.
Let's embrace this movement to transform our approach to death, ensuring that everyone can experience a dignified and meaningful end of life.
Thank you.
The Dash by Coach Ellis
I read about a man who spoke at a friend’s funeral, looking at the dates on the tombstone from the beginning to the end. He started with the birth date and then, with tears, mentioned the day his friend passed. But he said what really mattered was the dash between those years.
That dash represents all the time they spent on Earth, and only those who loved them know its true worth. It’s not about the cars, the house, or the cash. What really counts is how we live and love, and how we spend our dash.
So, think hard about this. Are there things you’d like to change? You never know how much time is left to make those changes. Slow down, focus on what’s real, and try to understand how others feel.
Be slower to anger, show more appreciation, and love the people in your life like you’ve never loved before. Treat each other with respect and wear a smile more often, because this special dash might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is read and your life’s actions are reviewed, will you be proud of how you spent your dash?
Let’s make every play count, both on and off the field. How you spend your dash matters.
